Youtube is one the most visited sites on the entire internet. People from all over world are on there and people all over the world can watch videos from a music video to court room fights. Music artist today have to do everything he/she can to market themselves. Artist are using everything internet site like twitter, facebook, youtube. Anything that will help them get their name out there.
Youtube is a great way to market someone. The first reason why is because it is free. No one has to pay to put a video on there. Then if someone watches it and likes then they will tell their friends and then it is like a chain where people just start watching it. Then maybe a famous person sees that video and might want to sign that artist.

I think youtube is great. I use youtube with my 2 best friends. Yes we make our own videos for fun because we do not have live, but if we became famous from youtube that would be amazing. I just think artist have to do everything in today'y market. It is a real competitive world out there in showbiz and every little thing counts when trying to be discovered.
Artists today definatley have to work hard to get themselves noticed and this is a good way for them to do it. I agree with what you are saying and in a way this helps the little guy.
